From one wedding to a business

Find My Seat began as a seating page for one real wedding: 443 guests across 39 tables on a ground floor and balcony. Guests scanned a QR code, searched their name and found their table. The next challenge was to turn that useful first version into a trusted brand and a platform that could serve many events. Couples needed a calm, easy experience; venues and planners needed smoother arrivals and a reliable service to recommend.

A seat. A place. A welcome.

The identity puts the product inside its name. The custom wordmark uses a chair-shaped a and a slotted y–s connection that recalls a place card. It was rebuilt as an SVG vector master with black and white versions. An ink, warm ivory and white palette leaves the colour to wedding photography, while Cormorant Garamond headings and Inter guest information balance elegance with readability.

An identity that works at every size

The seven-page brand guide sets clear-space rules, minimum sizes, typography, colour and practical layouts for web, social and print. Because the detailed wordmark does not work at favicon size, a separate chair symbol was designed for browser tabs and home-screen icons. Social templates keep the logo on a quiet panel and protect it from circular profile crops, busy florals and faces.

Two audiences, one visual language

Art direction moved the imagery from empty rooms to the moment the product creates: guests arriving, checking a phone and walking to their table. High-resolution campaign imagery shows couples and multi-generational families, with inclusive casting for the UK wedding market. Couples’ content leads with guest experience and clear pricing; venue and planner content leads with fewer questions at the door and partner value. The same system carries across 19 social posts, two A4 brochures, two vertical promo videos, link previews and printed QR materials. The move to findmyseat.io was rolled out across the entire asset toolkit.

A seat in seconds, on any phone

The guest web app needs no download or account. A QR code opens a clear welcome screen; typo-tolerant name search returns the guest’s table, section and floor. An interactive map highlights the table in its real position and explains balcony or upstairs directions. Large text, high contrast and one obvious action per screen make the experience usable in a busy doorway. Event colours and optional PIN access adapt the same product to weddings, charity dinners, awards and conferences.

An event the team can manage

The admin system replaces event-by-event code changes with reusable templates. The team can import Excel or CSV lists with a validation report, move guests between tables, position tables on an uploaded floor plan and publish the event. A private couple preview supports approval or corrections guest by guest, with subsequent changes recorded. Guests, tables, maps, themes, QR codes, exports and backups are managed from one place.

From discovery to booking

Separate marketing pages speak to couples and venue partners, supported by a live product demonstration, FAQs and brochure downloads. An animated phone shows the search-to-seat journey in the hero, and a WhatsApp enquiry flow lets visitors continue the conversation. Couples choose a package, enter their event details and pay through embedded Stripe checkout. Server-set prices and signature-checked, repeat-safe webhooks connect payment to a Booked + Paid record; refunds update that record, and an enquiry fallback preserves the booking details when checkout is unavailable.

A platform built to grow

Private venue partner dashboards provide referral links, QR codes, A5 flyers, ready-made messages and commission tracking. An enquiry pipeline, outreach tracker and weekly sales statistics support the operational side of the business. The marketing website and guest application share a Next.js 16, React 19 and TypeScript foundation, with Supabase Postgres, Stripe and Vercel. Domain redirects preserve existing paths during the move to findmyseat.io.

Quality for the wedding day

The delivery included 43 automated tests covering search, data validation, approvals, payments, statistics and data upgrades, alongside desktop and mobile checks for scrolling, image behaviour and console errors. Private event pages stay out of search engines, with optional PINs, expiry and scheduled deletion of guest names. Public demos use invented names. Keyboard focus, screen-reader labels, readable text, modern image formats and sharing metadata were considered throughout.

One brand. One connected experience.

The original one-off seating page became a complete product: couples can book, pay and approve their plan; guests can find their seats; event teams can manage changes; and venues can refer clients through a tracked partnership. The visual identity now connects the website, app, social campaigns, brochures, video and QR signs. A reusable template system also makes future changes to pricing, messaging or the domain consistent across the brand.
